In addition to Tales of the Abyss, Jade makes a few other appearances in various forms of media. Because Namco will milk this franchise as much as possible. First off, Jade totally not a yaoi manga. totally.

appears in the manga adaptations of the game by Rei, serialized in the Degenki Maou magazine and also released in book format. In addition to the official manga, Jade's character also appears in both the Dash and Shiro no ashita novels, 4-koma anthologies, drama CDs, and radio shows (Tales Ring the Abyss). However, these materials probably won't make an appearance outside of Japan.

Jade also make a cameo on the Viva Tales of DVD extras, featured with many newly released games in the series. He co-hosts the animated talk show-like episodes (by means of skit faces) alongside Zelos Wilder of Tales of Symphonia fame. Basically, Jade and Zelos attempt to interview various characters from the Tales of series and usually end up in some sort of comedic conflict. You can find some translated scenes on Youtube.

As of spring 2009, Jade has made a few appearences in other games. First off is Tales of Fandom 2, a Namco released game featuring Tales characters designed by Kosuke Fujishima. Jade's storyline apparently deals with a conflict over a supposed illegitimate heir of Emperor Peony in addition to an assassination plot. Jade even has to enlist the help of Guy and Anise. Looks like an interesting adventure. Jade also makes a small cameo in Tales of Hearts for the DS, appearing when a playable character uses a certain attack. Apparently Jade uses the move "Infernal Prison." > Finally, Jade appears as a playable character in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 for the PSP, which is some sort of crossover RPG featuring Tales characters. ToF2 and ToH likely won't see an English release because Namco hates us, but the first Radiant Mythology actually saw one, so maybe Radiant Mythology 2 will come to the States? Not that I have a PSP :(.

Additionally, Jade of course stars in the anime adaptation of Tales of the Abyss, which ran through October 2008 to March 2009. I'm planning a section of this site devoted to the anime, so look out for that whenever I watch it in its entirety.

Jade is also set to appear in Tales of the Abyss -Tsuiko no Jade-, a new manga series about his background, or so says ANN. I'm looking forward to it!

... what's this?! Jade is a playable character in Namco's upcoming fighting game for the PSP, Tales of VS! It looks like Super Smash Bros. with Tales characters. Which is awesome as hell. Only I don't have a PSP :(. Anyway, the game will i would buy this game just to beat up asch with jade and anise be released in summer 2009 in Japan and might even get an American release some time after that! I guess it takes place in some sort of alternate universe where the characters come from a number of Kingdoms and... fight over a tree or something. Anyway, here's Jade's profile in the game:
